About The Position

About the Role The Manager EVS is responsible for developing and managing the Environmental Services Department to ensure cleanliness of public and employee areas to the established standards of cleanliness and specified procedures. Position Responsibilities Responsible for operating the Department within approved budgetary guidelines while monitoring and approving all purchases Responsible for the daily operations of the EVS Department Responsible for hiring, scheduling, training & development, evaluating & coaching Ensures that the necessary equipment, machinery & supplies are readily available to enable the Department to function efficiently. Works to guarantee the safety & maintenance of this equipment. Coordinates efforts with other departments to ensure an efficient facilities operation Able to work with guests, fellow employees and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner, promoting positive customer relations for all by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service Properly handles guest or maintenance requests and repeatedly follows up to guarantee these things are completed to Ocean Casino Resort Atlantic City standards Responsible for the daily operation of the EVS Department Monitors cleanliness and maintenance standards of all back of the house and public areas in the property, including, but not limited to, the casino floor, valet arrival and departure, the hotel lobby, storage areas, public and back of house elevators/landings, and corridors, offices, and all public guest areas. Supports training and development of EVS Supervisors. Responsible for operating the Department within approved budgetary guidelines while monitoring and approving all purchases Ensure all OSHA and compliance training is administered. Establish standards and protocol for projects and deep cleaning Ensure all systems and processes for EVS staff are operating efficiently to department standards Create safety and maintenance programs of equipment Develop and submit operations and capital budgets to leadership for approval along with maintaining a departmental budget Assign personnel to work areas or project duties. Establish quality assurance checks Participate in internal and external meetings Exercise financial responsibility in monitoring both regular and overtime payroll expense Maintains confidentiality of Ocean Casino Resort proprietary information Essential Functions Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise & stress related to servicing customers in a fast-paced environment Must be able to stand for an entire shift & be able to move throughout the casino/hotel areas Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs Must be able to work holidays, weekends, & flexible shifts/hours Ability to speak, read and write in English

Requirements

  • High School or GED required; College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of EVS or Housekeeping experience in a high-volume resort
  • Strong supervisory, management, planning & organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate good verbal & interpersonal communication skills
