About The Position

The Manager, Event Sales – Sponsorships & Exhibits plays a key role in generating revenue and delivering a high-quality sponsor and exhibitor experience across ACP’s conferences and events. This position manages the full sales lifecycle for assigned events, from prospecting and relationship development through fulfillment and renewal, ensuring a thoughtful, responsive, and well-coordinated process for both internal teams and external partners. As a collaborative partner across departments, the Manager works closely with marketing, programming, logistics, and membership teams to develop sponsorship opportunities that meet client goals while supporting ACP’s broader event strategy. The role requires strong relationship management, sound judgment, and the ability to balance revenue goals with long-term partner engagement. In addition to executing established processes, the Manager contributes to the continued evolution of ACP’s sponsorship offerings by identifying new opportunities, staying current on industry and event trends, and supporting initiatives that expand audience engagement and revenue potential. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in sales, sponsorship sales, business development, or account management roles.
  • Experience supporting event or conference sponsorship programs strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts or projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and revenue goals.
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines; familiarity with event or exhibition platforms such as Map Your Show preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present proposals and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about industry, event, and sponsorship trends, and the ability to apply insights to improve sales strategies and offerings.
  • Experience supporting digital outreach, email campaigns, or social media engagement as part of sales or marketing initiatives preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to travel (10–15%), including occasional weekend work during events.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with assistance and support event setup activities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sale and account management of sponsorships, exhibits, and specialty services for designated ACP events, supporting department revenue goals and overall event success.
  • Develop and execute individual sales plans aligned with revenue targets and event priorities.
  • Identify and research prospective sponsors and exhibitors, including emerging companies, technologies, and new market segments aligned with ACP’s evolving audience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsor and exhibitor accounts, supporting renewals, upsell opportunities, and long-term engagement.
  • Guide sponsors and exhibitors through the sales and fulfillment process, ensuring clear communication, timely coordination, and a positive overall experience.
  • Collaborate with marketing, programming, logistics, and other internal teams to ensure sponsorship deliverables are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Contribute ideas for new sponsorship opportunities, specialty offerings, and revenue initiatives that reflect industry trends and attendee needs.
  • Partner with marketing and communications teams to support sponsor visibility and engagement through digital channels and targeted outreach efforts.
  • Analyze sponsorship performance, attendee feedback, and market trends to inform sales strategies and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking in CRM systems to support revenue planning and reporting.
  • Represent ACP at conferences, meetings, and industry events to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Travel to ACP events to provide onsite support and ensure sponsors and exhibitors have a positive and successful experience.
