About The Position
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director manages the day-to-day operations of the facility’s environment, cleanliness and trash services in order to meet the organization’s goals and objectives. Manages departments’ production, equipment, sanitation and delivery/logistics to ensure budgetary and quality compliance and employee and customer/patient safety and satisfaction. Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees. 2. Manages environmental services’ activities to ensure a safe, clean and sanitary environment that is compliant with federal, state and local regulations. 3. Manages hospital waste streams – municipal, infectious, recycling, pharmaceutical – to ensure compliance with state and local regulations as well as a safe, clean and sanitary environment. 4. Oversees daily operations, assigns daily work assignments to staff, and backfills or adjusts assignments to compensate for call offs, staff shortages, etc. 5. Manages employee hiring, development, performance appraisals, and communication in order to ensure employee and patient safety and employee satisfaction. Supports and assists the operations manager with in-services and competencies, as needed. 6. Works effectively with other department management and staff in order to meet hospital and department goals. 7. Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years’ experience in EVS Management
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
