About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Manager for the Transport and Environmental Services (Housekeeping) Departments at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours are: 8:00AM - 4:00PM; weekends and holidays (as required; shift may vary). The manager oversees the daily operations of the Patient Transport and EVS departments. The manager is responsible for supervising staff, improving workflows, collaborating with other departments and ensures a smooth operation. The manager is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and team members.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree required.
  • To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices required.
  • Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), customer service skills a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HCAHPS related to cleanliness is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a health care facility, hospital system or relevant area preferred.
  • 1-2 years' leadership experience managing patient transport and environmental services (housekeeping) in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in hospital transport and EVS services or healthcare operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing levels, manage departmental budget/variance reports, interviews/terminations.
  • Develop and implement department guidelines, procedures, quality control measures to ensure safe and timely transportation.
  • Collaborate and participate in managing patient satisfaction scores. As appropriate, make recommendations on potential improvement plans to further enhance performance.
  • Lead or participate in various hospital/department meetings.
  • Maintains environmental guideline manuals and reviews the details for regulatory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, infection control standards and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Work closely with other hospital departments, including infection prevention, nursing, facilities, and administration, to address specific cleaning needs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Resolve service issues, patient complaints, and follow-up on Origami.
  • Maintain reward/recognition program and team engagement to boost morale, mentor/manage up supervisor/lead.
  • Hires, trains, and evaluates direct reports and ensures performance appraisals and feedback are effectively communicated to improve department productivity.
  • Prepares, conducts, and organizes training programs, as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
