About The Position

The Plant EHS & Sustainability Manager is responsible for leading all environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures full compliance with safety and environmental regulations, drives risk reduction, and builds a proactive safety culture that aligns with the ASD Lean Operating System. This role will partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering leaders to embed safe work practices, eliminate risk, and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. This role is critical to achieving operational excellence by integrating EHS systems, metrics, and behaviors into daily plant management routines. Full job description available.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years safety and health experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven record of leadership abilities is strongly desired.
  • Ability to provide first aid/triage, administer drug tests and train first responders.
  • Experience in conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, HRIS and third party systems.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with employees and management.
  • A thorough understanding of federal and state regulations including OSHA, EPA and state and local regulatory requirements, in the state of Ohio.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating and managing injuries, claims and procedure.
  • BS in Health and Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related field is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Paramedic or nursing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and managing EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA) as well as corporate standards.
  • Success requires strong collaboration across all organizational levels and contractors to identify and implement effective EHS solutions.
  • Fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.
