Hologic is seeking a Manager, Environmental Health & Safety to join the team in Newark, DE. The Manager, EH&S will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EH&S programs at assigned facilities under the direction of the Chief Security Officer/Global Head, EHS.

  • Set and Oversee SMART Goals: Establish and manage SMART goals for the team to drive continuous improvement and align with organizational objectives.
  • Identify skill gaps and provide targeted training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities, incorporate into SMART goals.
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment.
  • Promote quality initiatives, integrate quality standards and standard work into all business aspects, and recognize contributions to quality improvements.
  • Manage all activities performed by EH&S staff at assigned facilities.
  • Assist in the development and management of EH&S department goals and budgets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate EH&S policies and programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and international rules and regulations.
  • Champion, manage and implement corporate EH&S and sustainability initiatives at a Regional level, ensuring understanding and partnership from direct stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication with key stakeholders, liaise with regulatory authorities, monitor EH&S metrics and performance, while providing support and advice to operational teams at all business levels.
  • Support Emergency Response, Business Continuity and Sustainability initiatives and processes. Plan, coordinate and oversee safety & evacuation drills.
  • Provide and coordinate emergency response both during and after business hours. Follow up to ensure deficiencies are corrected timely.
  • Oversee the maintenance of EH&S files, manifests, and records.
  • Compile case studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use as reference material by company personnel.
  • Administer and manage the company's workers' compensation program for US operations as related to their assigned facilities.
  • Advise HR on employee relations issues concerning accommodation for disabilities and fitness for duty.
  • Plan and execute EH&S compliance audits to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure ongoing compliance with governing regulations.
  • Manage the investigations of unsafe conditions, industrial incidents and accidents, gathering and analysis of accident data.
  • Develop and distribute accident investigation reports, and prepare and submit reports and associated data required by regulatory agencies.
  • Develop proactive solutions and track implementation of corrective actions.
  • Manage the Region's ergonomic program, conducting and overseeing ergonomic evaluations and follow-up actions.
  • Provide support and guidance to departments and regional sites on complex EH&S related issues.
  • Maintain liaison with various government agencies and keep abreast of new developments and regulations.
  • Participate as an active member of the Global EHS Leadership Team (EHS LT).
  • Support other Supply Chain operations with EHS program implementation and compliance as requested/directed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required.
  • Master's degree desirable.
  • 7-10 years of related experience preferred, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Experience working in ISO-certified businesses (i.e., ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).
  • Current professional certification from recognized EHS entities preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.).
  • Annualized base salary range of $97,300 to $145,400 and is bonus eligible.
