The Manager of Environmental Health and Safety will be responsible for overseeing all site safety and compliance at QCi. While primarily based at the Tempe Arizona facility, this individual will also be responsible for the workplace safety in the Hoboken New Jersey facility as well. This position is responsible for developing, administering and tracking safety programs, managing chemical inventory and hazardous waste, conducting risk assessments and creating a safety-first culture at QCi. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that QCi is in compliance with all applicable Authority Having Jurisdictions in the area of environmental health and safety.

  • Creating and maintaining a safety handbook for all company work locations
  • Creating and maintaining a chemical hygiene plan at all company locations
  • Creating, administering and tracking regularly recurring safety trainings for all employees
  • Managing and tracking chemical inventory and hazardous chemical waste
  • Creating and maintaining risk mitigation plans by identifying workplace hazards, analyzing and creating incident reports and developing risk mitigation measures
  • Ensuring that all QCi sites maintain compliance with Authority Having Jurisdictions, such as OSHA, EPA and others, by conducting and documenting regular audits and maintaining reports
  • Working with the company leadership to institute and actively promote a safety-first culture throughout the entire organization
  • 3-5 years experience in the EHS field
  • Thorough knowledge of EPA, OSHA and SEMI regulations and standards in particular as they relate to semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated ability creating, administering and managing employee safety programs
  • Technical proficiency with safety management systems and computer software, such as Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience and certifications for managing hazardous chemical waste handling and removal (such as OSHA HAZWOPER - 40, RCRA or equivalent)
  • 5-8 years experience in the EHS field
  • Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment or experience working with manufacturing / industrial engineering environments
  • Certification in hazardous materials and waste management, such as CHMM and / or CPWN or other relevant training
  • Knowledge of compressed gas cylinder safety
  • General understanding of chemical and gas delivery systems hardware and software
  • In depth knowledge of silane gas safety
  • In depth knowledge of Laser safety
  • In depth knowledge of hazards associated with common chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing process, such as Hydrofluoric Acid, other Acids, Caustics and common industrial solvents
  • In depth knowledge of proper handling, storage and use of cryogenic liquids
  • Experience working with 5S, 6 Sigma, and SPC programs
