About The Position

The Manager, Environment Sustainability and Safety is responsible for managing Rise Broadband's comprehensive safety and environmental social and governance functions in coordination with state and territory regulations. This position is responsible for the oversight of ongoing strategic programs related to Safety Management, Disaster Continuity (DC), and Environmental and Social Governance (ESG). This position provides planning, preparedness, training, and project management. As the primary program leader, the Manager, Environment Sustainability and Safety is also responsible for monitoring costs, managing scheduled, and adhering to the technical performance requirements of each program. In addition, the Manager, Environment Sustainability and Safety provides all risk assessments related to Safety, DC, ESG to complex or extended incidents, and leads the development of strategic programs to support the company's primary mission of improving performance.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years in health, safety in a telecommunication or construction environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Science, or job-related discipline and ten or more years of experience in job-related role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of field construction and/or telecommunication safety principles and practices.
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, conceptual, and planning skills.
  • Evidenced detail orientation and self-motivation in a role.
  • Ability to independently manage complex, high-visibility projects. Demonstrated ability to understand project interdependencies and impacts.
  • A high level of analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity working with senior leadership.
  • Strong proficiency with all MS Office programs.
  • Willingness to travel as needed/required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and implements all programs related to Safety, DC, and ESG to ensure preparedness for disaster, environmental, and safety operations.
  • Identifies areas of threats and safety related concerns, analyzing and prioritizes gaps, and recommends and implements corrective activities related to response and recovery.
  • Develop strategies, tactics, program controls, and operating plans for programs aligned with Safety, DC, and ESG.
  • Provides efficient communication and situational awareness related to mitigating organizational risk and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the IT leadership to develop, organize, and conduct functional or full-scale preparedness exercises related to DC and mitigating organizational risk.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to align business practices with environmental sustainability goals.
  • Promote social responsibility initiatives with the Rise organization, fostering partnerships that prioritize environmental sustainability and ethical practices.
  • Design, implement, and manage safety programs, opportunities and training.
  • Manage planning, training and preparedness of Emergency Action and Response for Field Operations.
  • Manages and recommends improvements to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Documents all activities and expenses related to recovery efforts.
  • Maximize ROI ensuring programs align with strategic business objectives while working with stakeholders to define the goals and objectives of the projects.
  • Measure the program's success against key imperatives and executive leadership goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison to a dedicated business unit executing programs cross-functionally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
