About The Position

We’re seeking an Environment, Health & Safety Manager - Americas to join NVIDIA at our Santa Clara, California headquarters! This role involves leading a regional EHS team and managing programs across our Americas portfolio in the U.S, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. You will collaborate with Real Estate, Facilities, R&D, and Sustainability/ESG to maintain safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplaces. This position requires an active onsite presence in Santa Clara to effectively engage with labs, offices, and regional partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, Environmental/Occupational Health, Engineering, or a similar technical area (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ overall years of progressive EHS experience with multi-site responsibility in high-tech, R&D, semiconductor, manufacturing, or data-center-type environments.
  • 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading EHS or technical professionals, with accountability for goals, feedback, and performance decisions.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 (or OHSAS 18001) systems.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state/local regulations, along with a proven history of resolving issues identified in audits and inspections.
  • Proven ability to work with engineering, R&D, facilities, and/or sustainability teams on labs, test equipment, robotics, or similar advanced technologies.
  • Strong project leadership skills with a track record of taking initiative, communicating progress proactively, driving accountability, and building alignment across cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional partners and senior leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or an equivalent regional credential.
  • Experience with critical environments (data centers, advanced labs, semiconductor operations) and application of NFPA 70E or similar standards.
  • Direct partnership with Sustainability/ESG teams on climate, resource efficiency, or waste-reduction initiatives and contributions to ESG ratings or disclosures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead EHS strategy and execution for offices, labs, warehouses, and critical technical environments across several U.S. states and countries.
  • Manage and develop a regional EHS team.
  • Hiring, performance management, mentorship, and day-to-day support while coaching safety champions and external consultants and contractors.
  • Turn regional objectives into plans, budgets, and schedules; establish procedures that guide how the Americas organization operates.
  • Implement and improve EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or equivalent), track conformance, and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local requirements; coordinate permits and records; represent the region during regulatory inspections.
  • Lead investigations of incidents and near misses, conduct root-cause analysis, develop action plans, and collaborate with HR on health and safety-related cases when necessary.
  • Support specialized programs including radiation safety, robotics safety, and high-energy or electrical testing.
  • Contribute EHS expertise to acquisitions, expansions, and site openings or closures in the Americas.
