About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the delivery of short- and long-term technical solutions across three dimensions of responsibility: operations ensuring all demand, capacity, and budgetary requirements are met; staff growth and development working with individuals and teams to ensure a high degree of technical prowess is maintained; and delivery overseeing multiple scrum teams in the execution of a managed backlog populated by product and engineering roadmaps collaboratively determined with the aligned IT Product Manager; engaging or leading in one or more strategic projects of low to medium complexity; managing technical resources both at the employee level as well as on and offshore contingent labor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5 years Information Technology experience or 9 years Information Technology experience.
  • 4+ years experience leading software engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering skill sets required by specific product/technology stacks including Mainframe stack.
  • Experience or knowledge in software engineering platforms.
  • Experience or knowledge in cloud computing / SaaS.
  • Experience or knowledge in analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Business Insights, JIRA, GitHub).
  • Experience or knowledge of resource planning and forecasting practices.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand business products & operations and the underlying business needs that drive IT resource requirements.
  • Experience working effectively with stakeholders at all levels in a matrixed organization.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple projects, needs, and goals.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of the SDLC Methodology - Agile / Scrum / Iterative Development from requirements through deployment.
  • Ability to competently describe the differences between tactical and strategic efforts.

  • Experience in business case development.
  • Experience or knowledge in optimization of engineers across technologies and platforms.
  • Experience or knowledge in predictive analytics.
  • Experience or knowledge in the development of scrum teams with required skills (training) to support long term IT goals.
  • Experience or knowledge in managing vendors in the delivery of statement of work (SOW), managed service, or time and materials engagements.
  • Experience or knowledge in managing vendors in offshore delivery.
