About The Position

The Systems and Software Engineering Manager at Caterpillar Inc. will lead the Autonomy and Automation (A&A) team in developing key capabilities for Cat® MineStar™ products. This role involves supervising a team, managing product development initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance mining production planning and automation. The manager will work closely with global teams to implement advanced technologies and drive continuous improvement in product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience in leading product development estimation, budget planning, and risk management.
• Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze situations effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
• Technical expertise in autonomy, automation, and worksite management systems.

Nice To Haves

• MS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Working knowledge of developing software applications for autonomous vehicles and/or MineStar products.
• Experience in leading an Agile team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach a systems/software team towards self-management and accountability.
• Supervise and manage employees' performance and direct third-party labor.
• Manage product development initiatives, including budget establishment and staffing plans.
• Contribute to product and platform strategy, roadmap, and architecture definition.
• Communicate and gain buy-in on the strategy and processes required for team success.
