About The Position

The Manager, Engagement Center provides leadership and oversight for the wraparound services and care coordination available at Liliʻuokalani Center. This position sits within the Kamaliʻi Recruitment and Wellness team and is responsible for leading staff who deliver services and resources that increase access to the Center and address the basic needs of kamaliʻi. This position manages services and resources - such as transportation, front desk operations, care coordination, and community resource referrals, to reduce barriers and ensure seamless access to programs and services both within and beyond Liliʻuokalani Center. Liliʻuokalani Center (LC): Informed by a deep understanding of the adolescent experience and grounded in Hawaiian culture, the new Liliʻuokalani Center provides Native Hawaiian youth with opportunities to connect with peers and mentors, access supportive services, and explore pathways to passion, purpose, and prosperity. As the newest initiative of Liliʻuokalani Trust, the Center serves as a vibrant youth hub where kamaliʻi can learn, play, and build connections. The Liliʻuokalani Center is a safe, pro-social space where youth are inspired to pursue their dreams through the arts, sports, technology, life readiness, and wellness while receiving wraparound supports that help them reach their goals and thrive.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant social services preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a flexible schedule environment.
  • At least four years of direct service experience, ideally within the department of education, juvenile justice, or child welfare systems.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of Hawaiian culture and values, with the ability to integrate these into outreach and engagement efforts
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Valid driver’s license, clean traffic abstract
  • TB clearance
  • Collaboration: Ability to interact effectively with youth, community partners, and multi-disciplinary teams. Knowledge of community resources and services
  • Ethical Practice: Model the highest level of ethical behavior, integrity, and social responsibility Uphold and embody all LT values
  • Communication: Clearly convey and receive information and ideas. Engage the listener and invite response and feedback. Demonstrate strong written, oral, and listening skills
  • Cultural Competence: Respect and relate well to people from varied backgrounds and sensitive to group differences. Experience working with at-risk youth and ability to apply positive youth development principles to that work
  • Relationship Management: Experience working with staff at all levels in a collaborative environment; ability to promote and sustain positive workplace values and relationships
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well under pressure and to remain calm and controlled when faced with challenging situations

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assess Engagement Center operations to ensure the space remains safe, welcoming, and aligned with Liliʻuokalani Trust’s mission and standards of care.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Engagement Center staff, ensuring quality service delivery and alignment with Liliʻuokalani Trust’s values and positive youth development framework.
  • Manage the wraparound services available at LC, including transportation and care coordination, to reduce barriers and promote consistent access to basic needs services, programs, and resources within Liliʻuokalani Center.
  • Collaborate with Program Leads to ensure kamaliʻi are connected to additional supports and resources as needs arise.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations to enhance available resources and strengthen referral pathways for kamaliʻi.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to college-level practicum students, supporting their professional development and applied learning in social service fields.
  • Stay informed on trends in positive youth development and culturally relevant practices to ensure services remain responsive to youth needs.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic record-keeping system.
  • Collaborate with the Wellness team to implement restorative practices approach as needs arise in the LC community.
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings and initiatives to support alignment between wellness, recruitment, and program delivery.
  • Contribute to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and collaborating as we strive to attain the Trust’s strategic goals
  • Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development
  • Other duties as needed and assigned
