Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, energy systems, or data science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience leading or supporting energy analytics, modeling, or consulting projects focused on buildings, distributed energy resources, and/or grid planning, including work for utilities, public-sector agencies, or related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Mater's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, energy systems, or data science.
  • Experience working with or advising electric and/or gas utilities.
  • Expertise in high‑performance buildings, district energy systems, electrification, and grid‑interactive efficient buildings (GEBs).
  • Hands‑on experience with energy modeling platforms, open‑source tools, and data‑driven analysis frameworks.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • Background in equitable energy program design, policy support, or community‑focused energy analysis.
  • Strong meeting facilitation and consultative engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to define, document, and manage complex technical workstreams.
  • Strong communication skills and experience engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects in a multi project, fast paced consulting or research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project & Client Leadership Lead end to end delivery of energy analytics and consulting projects for utilities, government agencies, and research sponsors.
  • Translate client objectives in grid modernization, electrification, DER integration, and energy equity into actionable technical workstreams.
  • Ensure high quality deliverables that connect technical results to regulatory, programmatic, and business decision making.
  • Support proposal development and follow on business opportunities by shaping scopes, technical approaches, and value propositions.
  • Technical & Analytical Leadership Oversee advanced building energy modeling, district scale simulations, and grid impact analyses, including electrification and load flexibility scenarios.
  • Guide development of data pipelines, modeling frameworks, and interoperable software tools for energy and DER analysis.
  • Provide technical oversight for analyses involving thermal systems, geothermal heat pumps, photovoltaics, storage, and demand flexibility.
  • Review and synthesize complex datasets and modeling outputs into clear insights for clients and stakeholders.
  • People & Team Management Manage, mentor, and technically guide a growing team of energy analysts, modelers, and software developers.
  • Support staff development through coaching, technical review, and workload prioritization.
  • Foster a collaborative, high performing team environment across disciplines (engineering, data science, policy).
  • Stakeholder & Utility Engagement Lead and participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and stakeholder discussions with electric and gas utilities.
  • Facilitate cross functional conversations across utility planning, program design, and research teams.
  • Communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
