The Manager, Endpoint position at the City of Fort Collins is a full-time role responsible for leading a team of technicians in managing various endpoint devices such as laptops, desktops, phones, and tablets. This hands-on position involves overseeing daily operations, addressing escalated issues, and managing projects related to the deployment and management of these devices across city departments. The role emphasizes collaboration with other departments to ensure effective device integration and training, ultimately impacting the city's ability to serve its community.

  • Lead a team of 4-5 technicians managing endpoint devices including laptops, desktops, phones, and tablets.
  • Oversee daily operations and address escalated technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain configuration policies for client devices and IoT systems.
  • Manage the City's MDM solution for secure provisioning and lifecycle management of devices.
  • Establish standard operating procedures for device management and security patches.
  • Create and maintain standard images for laptops and client devices in collaboration with the Service Delivery team.
  • Implement device provisioning and de-provisioning processes, including hardware configuration and software deployment.
  • Analyze performance issues and troubleshoot complex endpoint problems.
  • Research emerging MDM technologies and best practices for technology enhancement.
  • Monitor device security and apply necessary security measures such as encryption and antivirus software.
  • Conduct performance reviews for team members and identify training needs.
  • Prepare budget proposals and manage expenditures for endpoint management functions.
  • Support Systems Engineering and Networking teams for proper device integration within IT infrastructure.
  • Develop self-service tools and knowledge base content for end-users.
  • Ensure compliance with technology governance frameworks like ITIL or COBIT.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in endpoint management, including MDM solutions and device configuration.
  • Strong experience implementing ITIL or COBIT governance frameworks.
  • Proficiency with MDM solutions and managing mobile and IoT devices.
  • Experience with Windows, macOS, and other client platforms in a large organization.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools for device configuration and software deployment.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including VPNs and device integration with network security protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • ITIL Certification
  • Experience in project management related to endpoint devices.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, and DNS in relation to endpoint management.
