About The Position

The Manager, Employee Relations (ER) is responsible for supporting the VP, Employee Relations/Labor Relations in delivering meaningful strategic direction and guidance in all employee relations activities for OVG owned, operated and/or managed facilities throughout the US, Canada and globally. Areas of support include, but are not limited to conflict/grievance mitigation and resolution, assigned investigations, compliance assurance, training and development, data analytics, client relations and relationship building, Navex administration, regulatory compliance, and collaborating with all other functional HR/ER/LR areas, as needed. This role pays an annual salary of $125,000-$140,000 and is bonus eligible. This position will remain open until December 19, 2025.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Technologically savvy and able to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing diverse work groups in hospitality and venue management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Direct experience in supporting large-scale initiatives.
  • Proficient in current technology and MS Office.

  • MBA, Master of Juris Prudence in Labor & Employment Law, JD, or other advanced degree.
  • Ongoing commitment to specialized professional training and certifications.
  • Public speaking experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance on best practices to field management staff to achieve workplace harmony and successful business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the VP, ER/LR and senior leadership to implement OVG’s employee relations strategic plan and vision.
  • Compile, analyze and present periodic updates on employee and labor relations within the company.
  • Achieve resolution of conflicts/grievances and provide management support in mediation/arbitration.
  • Provide guidance on payroll/wage & hour compliance, safety/risk management, and HR/ER best practices.
  • Support implementation of key strategic HR/ER policies and programs.
  • Serve as an escalation point for employee and legal issues.
  • Partner with corporate legal team on investigations and grievance mitigation.
  • Assist corporate leadership during crisis situations and workforce planning.
  • Study, analyze and report on trends for improving policies and practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Investigate employee complaints/grievances and respond to charges filed through state or federal agencies.
  • Provide effective reporting and analysis of ER data.
