Provides leadership and oversight for the delivery of high-quality patient care across nursing units and EMS/pre-hospital personnel, including collaboration with local fire departments Leads all aspects of talent management, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and corrective action as needed Develops and manages capital and operating budgets in partnership with the Administrative Director of Emergency Services; monitors financial performance and addresses variances Establishes and executes strategic plans and operational goals for the EMS system; mentors staff in achieving departmental objectives Oversees the development, implementation, and compliance of EMS policies and procedures; evaluates and approves recommended changes Directs department-wide programs, including initial training, continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and certification/recertification processes; participates in disaster preparedness planning Serves as a subject matter expert to staff, providing guidance on complex patient care, operational, and customer service issues Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends through ongoing education, literature review, and professional development activities Builds and sustains strong partnerships with hospital leadership, EMS agencies, regulatory bodies, and local fire departments to enhance coordination, compliance, and community relations
