About The Position

An opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on the design and development of power electronics and protection systems for commercial and industrial environments. This role combines hands-on technical oversight with team leadership and project coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 8 or more years of experience in electrical design
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity
  • Strong decision-making ability in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
  • Experience with power distribution equipment, industrial controls, or critical power systems

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in power systems or power electronics design
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects and teams
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes, BOMs, and product documentation systems
  • Experience using tools such as AutoCAD, Altium, and design validation methods including dFMEA and HALT
  • Strong troubleshooting and hands-on lab experience
  • Knowledge of UL, IEC, and EMC compliance standards
  • Understanding of magnetics in power conversion systems
  • Experience with wide-bandgap switching technologies, simulation tools, and application design
  • Background in control systems and embedded programming

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of electrical engineers
  • Provide technical direction across electrical design, including power distribution, control systems, and protection schemes
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects
  • Manage resource allocation, timelines, project risks, and deliverables
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, product development, and project management
  • Establish team goals, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Lead engineering efforts related to power protection systems in both production and new development
  • Develop technical specifications and contribute to subsystem design for high-reliability applications
  • Serve as a technical lead for new product initiatives
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Conduct regular team check-ins, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions
  • Support innovation initiatives, technology planning, and intellectual property development
