The Electrical Maintenance Manager position works within the South Florida Aggregates Operations Group for Quarry Operations. Aggregates operations in South Florida span from Ft Myers to Miami and Homestead, Florida. The Electrical Maintenance Manager is responsible for coordination of manpower and equipment to ensure an effective electrical maintenance program as well as developing, planning and executing capital and process improvement projects within this area in support of the Operations Managers. This Manager interacts daily with operational personnel, front line management, contractors and vendors as well as coordinated interaction with other Engineering Services and Aggregates Operations personnel and senior management. This Manager is in a specialist service position where he/she is required to undertake maintenance investigations and design on a project basis, to meet specific situation requirements.

  • Liaising with operating personnel, plant management and senior management to plan electrical requirements prior to execution.
  • Schedules preventative maintenance and emergency repair to best utilize available manpower and repairs equipment.
  • Management responsibility for the maintenance of internal automation and electrical support sources.
  • Completing projects to the satisfaction of the customer and within the defined work scope and breakdown structure
  • Ensuring all necessary health and safety regulations are complied with, in particular by subcontractors and other external services on site
  • Communicating all relevant feedback to appropriate levels of responsibility from on site problems
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years experience performing varied responsibilities related to plant production and maintenance, equipment maintenance, detecting and resolving production problems, plant safety
  • 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Working knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations
  • Prior electrical maintenance experience required
  • Must have a minimum of 4 year Engineering degree or 8 years field experience in automation/electrical engineering in a construction materials related field; post graduate emphasis on computer programming code, HMI design and development, power distribution and electrical control in material processing, construction aggregates manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience in Aggregate or Heavy Industry Manufacturing (5 yrs+) required.
  • Experience with IBM Lotus Notes; Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to carry out not only simple, but also complex oral and written instructions and deal with problems from standardized situations and work experience.
  • Should have an excellent knowledge of primary power distribution, electrical controls and switchgear, control automation, material process flow and sound practices in electrical engineering works.
  • Strong working understanding of process equipment application and maintenance procedures.
  • Have formal and practical educational experience in a wide range of automation functionality, engineering estimating, electrical engineering layout, project scheduling and construction management implementation techniques.
  • Must be comfortable working in a diverse multi-cultural environment, often under adverse weather conditions and often requiring extended work hours and days.
  • Must be familiar with the policies and infrastructure of the company and personally committed to the company's Zero4Life commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Must be well versed in computer use and electrical layout and schematics.
  • Bi-lingual (a plus)
