About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee a team focused on the design and development of power electronics and protection systems used in commercial and industrial settings. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, making it ideal for someone who can guide engineering efforts while also developing and supporting a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical system design
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Strong ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Experience working with power distribution systems, industrial controls, or critical power infrastructure

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or similar advanced degree
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems or power electronics design
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects and teams
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes (ECNs), bill of materials (BOMs), and product documentation systems
  • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD and Altium
  • Knowledge of reliability and testing methods (dFMEA, HALT)
  • Strong hands-on lab and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of electrical compliance standards (UL, IEC, EMC)
  • Knowledge of magnetics related to power conversion
  • Experience with wide-bandgap (WBG) devices, modeling, and application
  • Background in control systems and embedded software development

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers
  • Provide subject matter expertise in electrical system design, including power distribution, controls, and protection systems
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects
  • Manage resource planning, timelines, risk factors, and project deliverables
  • Work cross-functionally with project management, manufacturing, quality, and product development teams
  • Establish team goals, priorities, and performance standards
  • Lead design initiatives related to power protection systems for both new development and existing products
  • Develop technical specifications and contribute to subsystem design for critical applications
  • Serve as a technical lead on new product development projects
  • Translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions
