About The Position

The Manager Electrical & Controls Engineering will report into the Director Engineering Residential & Power Products. This role will be hybrid in Kohler, Wisconsin. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Electrical and Controls Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team in the design, development and implementation of electrical systems, control systems and control strategies for our residential generators and related systems. This role is critical to developing new products, driving innovation and delivering high-performance solutions in support of our business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Required, Master’s Degree is preferred
  • 6+ years of work experience dependent on educational background
  • Strong understanding of electrical hardware and embedded software design principles
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of electrical hardware engineers and controls software engineers.
  • Design, develop and support analog, digital and RF electrical solutions involving alternators, wiring, printed circuit boards, transfer switches and related hardware as well as embedded software controls solutions.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from concept through implementation and product support.
  • Collaborate with teams to define hardware & software requirements, specifications and architecture.
  • Drive continuous improvement in areas of responsibility focused on customer experience, quality improvements and cost reduction.
  • Support creation of product development roadmaps and R&D efforts
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards related to electrical system designs.
  • Oversee resource planning, performance reviews and professional development for this team as well as develop budgets, timelines and task assignments.
