WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR The Manager, Electrical Architecture & Power Distribution will lead the development and execution of electrical hardware architecture and integration, including vehicle wire harnesses and low voltage distribution centers. In addition, this position will also maintain electrical test properties, manage budgets, ensure safety, and drive efficiency in the distribution of electrical power.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical architecture design, development, and execution in the automotive industry.
  • 5+ years of experience working with low voltage (LV) electrical power distribution.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role in automotive engineering.
  • Experience leading a highly technical team and capability to provide technical direction in terms of strategy and execution, aligning with strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Track record of engaging with suppliers and engineering teams, and developing trusted relationships, influencing them through electrical architecture and technology.
  • Track record of meeting deliverables on-time and on-specification.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced automotive development environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have the ability to travel (up to 10%).
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

  • Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of electrical hardware and power distribution architecture, aligning the electrical architecture with the overall architecture of the vehicle.
  • As the complete vehicle E/E architecture SME, analyze future electrical architecture trends and develop technology roadmaps and product concepts to ensure E/E architecture is “future proof” and allows for a 20% increase in functionality.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design, develop, and integrate ECUs into vehicle electrical architecture, ensuring the vehicle harnesses meet all timing, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Support field warranty and quality investigations, leading root cause analysis and identifying optimal solutions.
  • Provide regular communications on project status, risks, quality of hardware status, requirements vs test metrics/traceability and resources related issues to project stakeholders and management
  • Establish and maintain BOM for Electrical harnesses and power distribution centers.
  • Mentor team members and promote continuous learning and development.
