Summary Oversee the implementation and administration of the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability programs at the Mt Olive facility while supporting and coordinating EHS&S initiatives across other locations as needed Ensure compliance with company standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Requirements

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in developing, implementing, auditing and administrating EHS programs.
  • BS degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret federal, state and local governmental regulations.
  • Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information (oral and written) and respond to questions from managers, emploees, clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to interact with people of various backgrounds, experience and education levels.
  • Ability to identify and address hazards and exposure risks in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or Engineering.
  • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
  • Hazardous Materials Transportation (DOT) training.
  • Hazardous Waste Management (RCRA) training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, review, update, implement and maintain environmental, health, safety and sustainability programs, procedures and reports as required by Federal, State and Local requirements and Robertet policy.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on safety, regulatory and environmental issues.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state and local jurisdictions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Inspect, audit, and assess facility activities to ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform and schedule training.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, provide analysis of root cause(s) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track analyze and report key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Coordinate sustainability and waste management programs.
  • Coordinate facility medical emergency response team.
  • Coordinate facility spill response team.
  • Support and collaborate with other Robertet facilities to promote consistent standards, share best practices, assist with audits, compliance initiatives, sustainability initiatives and incident investigations when required
  • Assist with regional EHS&S initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Be part of 24/7 notification lists such as Burg/Fire and Chetrek
