About the position

The Manager of Economic Development at AWS will lead significant economic development projects and build sustainable relationships with stakeholders globally. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams to support AWS's global expansion strategy, focusing on economic development and incentives. The position requires a deep understanding of the data center landscape and involves responsibilities such as site identification, due diligence, and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal customers including business development, real estate, legal, tax, finance, HR, and PR teams.
• Communicate the scope and benefits of AWS investments to external stakeholders.
• Support expansion projects from site identification to incentive-related deal structures.
• Develop and present business cases for projects.
• Manage a portfolio from negotiation to tracking benefits and commitments.
• Facilitate workforce development plans with internal stakeholders.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of experience in economic development, consulting, or similar fields, with recent data center transactional experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience dealing with corporate business leaders and government officials.
• Experience leading and managing teams and third-party vendors.
• Track record of developing partnerships with economic development agencies and governments.
• Experience managing economic development issues for large-scale projects.
