About The Position

The Eastern Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (EHPC) Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the development and operations of the EHPC under the supervision of the Director of Emergency Management. This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating emergency preparedness and disaster response efforts for the Hospital Preparedness Program and the North Carolina State Medical Response System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business/Healthcare/Nursing, Emergency Management, or Emergency Services.
  • 5 years of emergency management, nursing, or paramedic experience.
  • Registered Nurse or EMT-Paramedic certification required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that promote professionalism and uphold the mission and values of ECU Health.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles, including the ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan, effectively plan, delegate, and supervise the work of others.
  • ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 required (must be obtained within six months of employment if not already certified).
  • All Hazards Incident Management Team Course (O-305) required (must be obtained within twelve months of employment if not already certified).
  • Task Force Leader Course required (must be obtained within twelve months of employment if not already certified).

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency Management exercise experience preferred.
  • Experience with Hospital Incident Command System (ICS).
  • Teaching experience in hospital/prehospital and emergency management preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, TEAMS, and ability to create effective presentations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and coordinate emergency preparedness and disaster response for aspects of the Hospital Preparedness Program and North Carolina State Medical Response System.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of assigned staff, including performance reviews to measure productivity and goal progress.
  • Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing emergency preparedness and training.
  • Engage and develop staff, including performance management, professional development, and communications.
  • Train, schedule, and assign team members projects, tasks, or shifts, while supervising and monitoring productivity and performance.
  • Develop, enhance, and evaluate the EHPC regional disaster plans and annexes in collaboration with state, regional, and local agencies.
  • Ensure EHPC SMAT is Mission Ready for 24/7 disaster response and recovery operations for hospital and regional partners.
  • Assist and support stakeholders/partners during disaster response.
  • Develop and monitor grant expenditures according to hospital, state, and federal regulations.
