About The Position

The Manager of Sales and Technical Training at Johnson Controls is responsible for leading a team of sales and technical instructors, managing strategic projects, and ensuring the development of impactful training programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Learning & Development or performance consulting.
  • Strong sales background with 5 years or more in technical sales and services.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills to articulate processes and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in operations-focused organizations or supporting service-related teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with modern training technologies and graphic design.
  • Ability to influence at all levels within an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of learning professionals in developing and delivering sales and technical training programs.
  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate team members through performance evaluations and job training needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and learning consultant for training content development.
  • Manage learning timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and risks across various stakeholders.
  • Drive performance across key learning KPIs such as Instructor Rating and Net Promoter Score.
  • Ensure the creation of professional instructor-led and virtual training programs that meet learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with product and solutions teams to align training with business strategies.
  • Foster a growth mindset and support the career development of team members.
