About The Position

Responsible for the oversight of the Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU). Oversees nursing services provided, clinical research study planning, coordinating, and execution of all study-related activities, including extensive interaction with the Internal Review Board (IRB), study sponsors, and investigators Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Manages the PCRU and day-to-day functions of the unit. Recruits, hires, trains, manages and reviews of clinical research staff. Makes recommendations and participates in the development of and implements decisions and policies and procedures for the PCRU, including reviewing study feasibility. Oversees federal and sponsor funding; monitors financial performance of the unit and helps develop rates. Monitors compliance of the clinical research division with the IRB, federal mandates and grant compliance; identifies areas needing improvement and suggests solutions to problems. Assists with compliance monitoring and audits. Aids in the strategic planning of the PCRU. Manages research education and training of clinical research staff to include the development of a research manuals and training program to maintain research compliance. Acts as liaison in matters relating to clinical research activities between the department, the School of Medicine and external agencies. Facilitates workforce development among clinical research staff in the department through seminars and research updates. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
  • Managerial (4 Years)
  • Clinical Research
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
