About The Position

The District Sales Manager at Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company is responsible for leading sales initiatives across local, regional, and national accounts. This role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and the development of a competent sales team while ensuring adherence to customer marketing agreements and maintaining strong relationships with customer accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or account management.
  • Prior experience in retail or direct-store-delivery (DSD) sales including contract terms and negotiations required.
  • Prior experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry preferred.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to present ideas and influence decisions at the leadership level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must use personal vehicle during work hours with reimbursement; proof of insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of sales initiatives in assigned accounts.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the sales team.
  • Build and retain a highly competent team using available resources.
  • Ensure execution of all sales priorities and initiatives for designated area.
  • Provide sales route coverage as needed.
  • Accountable for selling and adherence to Customer Marketing Agreements (CMA).
  • Provide feedback to national customer teams.
  • Execute and fulfill channel, package, and pricing plans from the Customer team.
  • Maintain successful relationships with customer accounts and serve as the point of contact.
  • Communicate regularly with store level and local chain leaders.
  • Ensure cross-functional communication to maintain successful partnerships with customers.
  • Provide marketplace condition updates to leadership.
  • Establish safe working environment behaviors and train teammates on safety techniques.
