About The Position

Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the operation of the department for areas of responsibility on a 24 hour basis. Oversees the delivery of diagnostic imaging services to each individual patient in areas of responsibility.

Requirements

3 or more years recent clinical radiology experience
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

Selects, ensures training/orientation, and assigns staff; evaluates competency; intervenes/counsels when necessary.
Participates in inter- and intra-departmental meetings, committees, and other activities.
Demonstrates fiscal and operational responsibility in annual budget development, budget variance analysis, payroll, etc.
Promotes positive customer relations and effective communications with job contacts.
Develops and implements department and hospital wide policies and procedures, goals, regulatory requirements and quality performance activities.
Acts as a resource for staff and provides environment to motivate staff to optimum potential.
Performs tech duties in area of expertise as needed.
Review and revise procedure book, prep manual, CPT codes, order communications and centralized scheduling information.
Insures preventative maintenance and repair of departmental facilities and equipment.
Assumes responsibility of the director in her/his absence.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
