About The Position

The Manager, DevOps at HUB International will lead the DevOps team responsible for building delivery pipelines, automations, and deployment platforms for the company's digital products. This role focuses on enabling continuous delivery, pipeline automation, and infrastructure deployment while ensuring the performance and availability of mission-critical applications in a cloud environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant platforms, overseeing all aspects of DevOps including CI/CD pipeline development and operations support.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps role or similar capacity leading complex digital technology programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong understanding of business and technology with a track record of managing complex DevOps platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external teams across all organizational levels.
  • Passion for delivering value to business partners and end-users with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Extensive experience in SDLC development and testing methodologies, and corresponding DevOps design and automation tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines such as Jenkins, TravisCI, Gitlab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and infrastructure as a service.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure Orchestration frameworks like Cloud Formation, Terraform, and ARM.
  • Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#/C/C++, PowerShell, Java, Go, or shell scripting.
  • Experience with monitoring and analytics platforms like Dynatrace, Splunk, or NewRelic.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, HTTP, WAF, OAuth, and SAML.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, demonstrating empathy and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the DevOps team to maintain availability and performance of pipelines and automations for HUB's applications.
  • Oversee the design, development, integration, automation, and performance of CI/CD pipelines and deployment platforms.
  • Build collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand needs and devise solutions.
  • Provide a DevOps-enabled foundation to identify application issues and ensure ongoing production availability.
  • Ensure DevOps platforms align with strategic goals and customer needs, practicing continuous improvement.
  • Partner with engineering teams to design solutions with customer experience and performance in mind.
  • Work with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to corporate policies and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with business and technology leaders to ensure effective communication of change impacts.
  • Define performance benchmarks and manage KPIs for DevOps performance.
  • Monitor systems and application performance to ensure reliability and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Be available 24/7 for critical system issues, leading service-restoration efforts during outages.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for service interruptions and establish preventive measures.
  • Evaluate DevOps platform and infrastructure costs, recommending changes or upgrades as needed.
  • Lead Technical Archeology efforts to determine integration needs with legacy or new systems.
  • Engage with management regularly to report on project status and ensure timely decision-making.
  • Direct and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of growth and development.
  • Lead and motivate internal and third-party resources to achieve project and operational goals.
