About The Position

The position involves managing current and new component design engineering and testing requirements to meet business objectives. The role requires creating design concepts based on customer inputs and developing PV testing plans. A strong understanding of product costing and testing cost estimation is essential, along with knowledge of product manufacturing processes that may impact quality, delivery, and cost. The candidate will lead and support the development of a business plan to ensure the attainment of company sales goals and profitability by performing market research, competitor analysis, and customer surveys. Responsibilities also include gathering customer requirements, initiating and coordinating development of action plans, developing business cases, and delivering technical RFQ responses while negotiating technical points with proper organizational approval. The role requires supporting organizational activities for VA/VE and inventory control, ensuring proper customer information flow regarding technical and quality issues, and working with external test labs to coordinate testing activities. The candidate will also ensure personnel development is defined and maintained, comply with all company policies, and continuously develop a position of influence with key customer decision makers. The position demands defining, developing, and delivering engineering solutions in support of customer initiatives and business needs, while providing leadership as an internal/external customer advocate to achieve the highest level of customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years demonstrated leadership/management experience
  • Experience in Component PV Testing
  • Knowledge of 3D Software CATIA/CREO
  • Proven account management skills to create and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with high quality and on-time completion
  • Thorough understanding of design and engineering disciplines
  • Knowledge of IS/TS/QS9000 Procedures and Standards
  • Familiarity with engineering standards
  • Program and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Cost reporting and reconciliation skills
  • Skilled negotiator

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering/Business or equivalent
  • Previous role with key OEM/Tier account related to light vehicle, commercial vehicle, or specialized product OEM
