Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar quantitative field required.
  • 6+ years of data science experience with Python, machine learning, and/or data warehouses required.
  • 2+ years development experience with business intelligence software, Tableau required.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, Power BI, and Tableau required.
  • Strong experience with the ETL process and database management systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • Development experience using AI or ChatGPT applications preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare with physicians preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare nomenclature and hospital quality measures preferred.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to business and technical audience preferred.
  • Proficient with agile development methodologies preferred.
  • Experience in strategic program and project management, system implementation, and deployment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists in duties related to reporting, including dashboards, benchmarking, data extraction/logic, and data science models.
  • Manage the collection, approval, development, and communication/training cycle related to enhancement requests for data products.
  • Lead, direct, and review the work of team members to accomplish program initiatives, operational plans, and results within schedule and budget.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action with the assistance of People Operations, when necessary.
  • Build and maintain a positive working environment to train and develop the team to foster understanding of broad principles, policies, and procedures with a high level of customer service focus.
  • Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies.
  • Provide primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions for direct reports including the hiring or firing of employees, in accordance with organization guideline.
  • With the Director of Business Intelligence, prioritize development efforts and communicate priorities and timelines to development teams and stakeholders.
  • Balance the needs of customers, business teams, and stakeholders with the capabilities and limitations of technical resources throughout the development process.
  • Facilitate meaningful discussion to help develop sound business requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and groom backlog to ensure that work efforts are aligned with product and business goals and objectives.
  • Manage internal documentation and issue/bug/enhancement ticket tracking; create and manage training and supporting content for users and customers.
  • Evangelize products by working with key stakeholders to demonstrate value of tools.
  • Become a subject matter expert in upstream data sources and flow to help identify gaps for various programs and practice lines.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining the relationship with the business stakeholders of the assigned platforms and stakeholders of the assigned MVPs.
  • Effectively influence and collaborate with others, presenting and securing approval from senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Physician Leadership, Operations Division Leadership, and Practice Line and Program Leads to co-design achievable data products.
  • Assess areas of opportunity where available data sources and/or systems can be leveraged in a report, dashboard, or tool that can add business value or operational insights.
  • Use Tableau and other platforms to develop prototypes and engage with prospective users for feedback.
  • Research and stay informed of industry best practices for analytics, business intelligence, and data science.
