About The Position

CitySchools Collaborative partners with schools, tutoring providers, and research organizations to design and scale high-impact tutoring and educator workforce initiatives that improve student outcomes. The Manager, Data & Evaluation supports and strengthens CitySchools Collaborative’s data and evaluation infrastructure, ensuring we have the systems, partnerships, and insight needed to measure impact and strengthen programs over time. Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Strategy, this role is responsible for ensuring CitySchools Collaborative has accurate, timely, and actionable program data. As the primary internal owner of CitySchools Collaborative’s external data partnership and internal data systems, the Manager ensures that key program metrics—such as how many students are served across various programs, how much tutoring they receive, and patterns in program implementation—are collected consistently and translated into actionable insight. This role connects program implementation with data and evaluation, helping our team understand what is working, where we see opportunity, and how to adjust in real time. With a strong analytical lens and commitment to equity, the Manager, Data & Evaluation plays a critical role in strengthening CitySchools Collaborative’s continuous improvement efforts, supporting research partnerships, and contributing to our broader learning and impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how CitySchools Collaborative uses data and evaluation to strengthen programs and improve outcomes for students.

Requirements

  • Data Analysis and Insight: Ability to work confidently with large datasets and dashboards, analyze trends, and translate findings into actionable insights that strengthen programs and inform decision-making.
  • Technical Skills/Scope: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets and the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret structured large datasets is essential. However, this role does not require coding or advanced technical data engineering skills.
  • Systems-Building: Ability to design and maintain systems that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability.
  • Project and Partnership Management: Ability to manage complex workstreams and external data partnerships with clarity, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to synthesize and communicate insights clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Analytical and Reflective Mindset: Uses data to assess progress, surface challenges, and inform improvement.
  • Relationship Building: Builds trust and collaborates effectively across teams and partners.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to Equity: Demonstrated commitment to advancing educational equity.
  • Aligned Professional Experience: 4–6+ years of experience in education, research, evaluation, data analysis, public policy, or a related field; K–12 experience a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Data Visualization Tools: Experience working with data in Excel or Google Sheets required; experience creating, interpreting or modifying dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools) a plus but not required.
  • Aligned Professional Experience: K–12 experience a plus.
