About The Position

As a Manager of Date Engineering, you will be focused on writing code and assembling large, complex sets of data using various technologies. You will be a part of the data processing team, focused on code optimization, in addition to other day-to-day responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 yrs of experience in Databricks
  • Advanced SQL coding (must), tuning, and query optimization, especially within cloud-based data warehouses Amazon Redshift.
  • 1+ years of Python coding experience.
  • Ability to lead other Data Engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to speak and write professionally.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Ability to service clients, partners and internal stakeholders by understand their needs, translating those needs into creative solutions, and delivering on those solutions with diligence and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in leadership and contributing to tasks “hands-on”.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and coding techniques.
  • Digital media experience, particularly experience working in ad tech industry with a data-centric role plus.

Responsibilities

  • Write application and database code based on business requirements or user stories, architectural requirements, and existing code using both Databricks and AWS redshift.
  • Design, development, and enhancement of data models Databricks and AWS redshift.
  • Modify and improve data engineering processes to handle ever larger, more complex, and more types of data sources and pipelines.
  • Work as part of the data processing team and on performance tuning and optimization, query optimization, index tuning, caching, buffer tuning and data archiving strategies.
  • Estimate and plan development work, track and report on task progress, and deliver work on schedule.
  • Ensure all deliverables are high quality by setting development standards, adhering to the standards and participating in code reviews.
  • Mentor, support and manage team members.
  • Keep up to speed on new and emerging technologies and products that will be of interest to our clients
