ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an early -mid career candidate who will serve as a skilled Data Center Manager to oversee operations of a data center that specializes in Bitcoin mining and blockchain operations. This individual will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of the facility, focusing on electrical infrastructure and personnel leadership. The role requires a proactive leader capable of managing a small but efficient team in a mission-critical environment, while prioritizing operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering or 3+ years of experience in operating and leading teams with a data center critical infrastructure environment (related military experience would be considered) is preferred.
• Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-performing team is paramount to this role. Your success in this role will not just come from how hard you work as an individual, but how strong of a team you help create across the facility.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• You are intellectually curious and enjoy training others around you when you learn something new.
• Thrive in an environment that forces you to get your hands dirty while also spending time behind the computer documenting your findings and communicating effectively across written and verbal mediums.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on occasion and can spend extended periods of time on your feet
• Must live within a 1-hour commute from the designated work site location. ( Reasonable relocation support provided by company, if required )
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driving license and own reliable transportation to get to and from the designated work site location.

• Experience creating and/or executing large-scale critical infrastructure maintenance and reliability programs preferred.
• Ability to create clear, consistent, and understandable technical documentation to be leveraged by partner teams preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the data center's operations, including personnel, electrical infrastructure, mechanical equipment, network systems, cooling systems, vendor relations, and site security.
• D evelop a strong leadership team and technicians/specialists so they can support daily operations with minimal supervision.
• Manage an on-site team, ensuring that all work is in accordance with established practices, procedures and safety protocols.
• Act as a consistent escalation point for all facilities-related issues.
• Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, power distribution equipment, dry coolers, pad mounted transformers, etc.
• Manage key relationships with local, external partners to include: municipal leaders, energy providers, ISP services, service contractors, etc.
• Manage facility budgets and all related KPI's & performance targets.
• Create, manage, and execute preventative maintenance plans in conjunction with our Maintenance Manager for all onsite infrastructure equipment.
• Analyze performance metrics to optimize IT load efficiency, especially related to power usage and weather-related variables (extreme heat and cold).
• Collaborate with stakeholders on infrastructure upgrades or expansions, balancing cost, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including environmental and safety standards.
• Support technical operations investigations and root cause analysis for any events.
• Review maintenance notifications for impact and ensure proper risk classifications and resolutions.
• Promote and maintain a culture centered around merit-based recognition and rewards
• Promote safety, security and compliance in all aspects of data center operations
• And other assigned duties.
