About The Position

As a Manager, Data Analytics supporting Walmart's Finance Teams, you'll serve as a critical link between our front-line operations and our data products. This role is designed for an early-career professional who is passionate about solving complex problems, enjoys getting close to the business, and thrives on delivering insights that drive impact. You will spend most of your time creating bespoke, scalable analytics solutions using tools such as Power BI, SQL (BigQuery), Python, R, and Generative AI. By embedding yourself into the day-to-day operations of Finance, you will gain deep context and speak on behalf of the business to influence the roadmap of our internal data products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Economics, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in data analytics, data storytelling, or operations support (internships included).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working in cloud environments (BigQuery preferred).
  • Proficiency with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis, modeling, or automation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying Generative AI tools to business problems.
  • Familiarity with healthcare, retail, or operations analytics.
  • Experience with product analytics or influencing roadmap decisions.
  • Exposure to experimentation, testing frameworks, or causal inference.

Responsibilities

  • Design tailored analytical solutions using SQL, Power BI, Python, R, and GenAI to solve strategic and operational problems.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Finance leaders and stakeholders to understand their workflows, terminology, and priorities.
  • Frame questions clearly, build models or dashboards, and translate findings into recommendations.
  • Act as a key voice of the business in influencing how our central data products evolve to better serve frontline teams.
  • Present technical and non-technical findings to a range of audiences, driving clarity and alignment.
  • Create and maintain self-serve dashboards and custom reports to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Work closely with product, finance, operations, and data engineering teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Leverage automation and AI to streamline repetitive tasks and unlock scale.
  • Participate in sprint cycles or agile ceremonies where applicable to represent analytics priorities.
