About The Position
As the Manager of Cyber Security-Offensive at Garmin, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the security posture of the organization. This position requires a close collaboration with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure effective alerting and response to security incidents. You will manage team priorities and deliver critical Cyber Security projects while leading a team of internal Cyber Security staff. Your responsibilities will include continuously defining, documenting, and refining Cyber Security workflows to meet customer requirements and priorities. You will drive offensive operations at scale, enhancing the value delivered to the defensive security team, security leadership, and business executives. In this role, you will lead efforts to identify unknown vulnerabilities that can be exploited as part of operational objectives, improving adversary emulation accuracy for all Garmin products and applications. You will be expected to display extensive proficiency and technical knowledge of cybersecurity, particularly concerning IoT devices, threats, web and mobile applications, and identifying weak spots in system defenses. Additionally, you will provide guidance to vendors to assist in problem statements or requirements for Cyber Security, manage multiple security projects simultaneously, and document current security controls while proposing future enhancements. You will ensure that IT security systems exceed expectations, provide quality assurance to maintain system integrity and availability, and actively participate in encouraging innovative approaches to tasks. Building and maintaining high-performing teams will be essential, as you will recruit, develop, and retain outstanding talent while promoting team member engagement and effectiveness through constructive feedback and personal development initiatives. You will also develop and manage performance metrics to identify successful operations and areas for improvement, ensuring that all organizational objectives are met. As part of the Offensive Team, you will make suggestions for security policy improvements, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and craft high-impact Offensive Operations that assess runtime defenses using quality threat intelligence. You will guide and document penetration testing in response to incidents, assess the technical skillset of the Cyber Security team, and develop training plans in accordance with industry standards. Your role will also involve adhering to regulatory requirements and demonstrating a broad understanding of Garmin's business model, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Marketing.
