About The Position

Join our Cyber Advisory team as a Manager specialising in Operational Technology (OT) cyber security, supporting clients across manufacturing, energy, utilities, transport, and industrial sectors. In this role, you will help organisations secure their industrial control environments, navigate complex OT/ICS risk, and modernise their security capabilities as they integrate digital technology with legacy operational systems. You will play a critical part in delivering OT security assessments, designing and enhancing control frameworks, advising on compliance requirements, and leading multidisciplinary teams on client engagements. This role suits a hands-on OT cyber professional with strong sector experience who enjoys solving practical operational challenges and working closely with engineers, plant operators, and technology leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in OT/ICS cyber security, ideally gained within manufacturing, energy, utilities, transport, or other industrial sectors.
  • Working knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, Profibus, OPC UA, etc.) and common OT system architectures.
  • Experience delivering OT cyber assessments, architecture reviews, or control design.
  • Familiarity with OT security frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, NIST CSF, and NCSC CAF.
  • Ability to operate effectively in industrial environments (e.g., factories, plants, substations).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading workstreams or small project teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, IIoT, or digital transformation projects.
  • Understanding of energy sector-specific regulations (e.g., NIS/NIS2).
  • Exposure to OT monitoring / anomaly detection tools (e.g., Dragos, Claroty, Nozomi).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., GICSP, IEC 62443 Certification, CISSP, CISM).
  • Experience in incident response, threat hunting, or recovery within OT environments.
  • Pragmatic, safety-conscious, and operationally aware.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver OT/ICS cyber risk assessments, maturity reviews, and threat analyses for clients across manufacturing, energy, utilities, and related sectors.
  • Support clients in securing environments such as: Industrial Control Systems (ICS) SCADA systems Distributed Control Systems (DCS) PLCs, RTUs, and safety instrumented systems (SIS) Energy generation and distribution systems Smart manufacturing / Industry 4.0 environments
  • Provide practical, operationally aware recommendations that balance security, safety, cost, and system availability.
  • Conduct site visits, interviews, and workshops with plant operators, engineers, and security teams to understand real-world OT challenges.
  • Lead workstreams on OT cybersecurity engagements, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs, timely execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop project documentation including reports, architecture risk reviews, gap analyses, and remediation roadmaps.
  • Manage junior staff and multidisciplinary teams, providing oversight, coaching, and quality assurance.
  • Analyse vulnerabilities and risks within OT networks and legacy industrial systems.
  • Support clients with implementation of OT security controls including network zoning, access management, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Conduct OT security architecture reviews aligned to safety and reliability requirements.
  • Apply frameworks such as: NIST CSF & NIST 800-82 IEC 62443 NCSC CAF ISO 27019 Relevant energy and industrial regulatory standards
  • Provide insight on sector-specific threats affecting manufacturing and energy operations, including ransomware, supply-chain attacks, and nation-state threats.
  • Engage with operational leaders, engineering teams, site managers, and technology/security executives.
  • Translate technical findings into actionable business-level insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate client workshops, risk discussions, and solution design sessions.
  • Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and sales initiatives targeting the OT/industrial market.
  • Help identify new opportunities through client conversations, sector insights, and delivery excellence.
  • Support development of PwC thought leadership, case studies, and OT-focused service offerings.
