About The Position

The Customer Insights & Data Analytics Manager plays a pivotal role in analyzing customer and prospect data for Ryder's Marketing Insights team to be provided to Ryder’s Senior Leadership Team. This manager is responsible for communicating with business stakeholders to understand Ryder’s business from a non-operational standpoint and coordinating with technical and IT teams to identify and evaluate previously untapped data sources. They develop plans for data ingestion and transformation utilizing IT resources and ensure that the ingested data meets the needs of Marketing, often serving as the initial developer of the code. This Manager will also support the team charged with developing a deeper understanding of current and potential customers and translating that understanding into actionable insights that drive business performance. This Manager must be comfortable at all levels of big data management including sourcing, vetting, analyzing, and reporting. They must be able to turn large amounts of raw data from multiple sources into insights and strategies that result in greater customer retention, the acquisition of new customers, inform cross-sell opportunities and assist in the development of key strategic initiatives and projects. The manager should be able to identify and recommend process improvements. Also, this individual will support the ongoing development of a greater data infrastructure including sourcing and vetting new data streams and enhancing and enriching existing data sets. The Manager must be adept at working across the organization with key partners in the business units, Marketing, Sales, Information Technology and Senior Leadership to drive successful outcomes. This manager should be able to manage project plans and communication to all levels of leadership, IT, and other team members to ensure the success and timeliness of the projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics or Computer Science, Required
  • 8 years or more in big-data data analyst in a Fortune 500 company or Management Consulting, Required
  • 8 years or more working experience with Excel, SQL, R/, SAS/other Statistical Packages., Required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, open-ended questions.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA) and/or master's degree, Preferred
  • 1 year or more in experience in transportation/logistics industry a plus., Preferred
  • Customer experience insights methods, analytics, tools, and practices. Advanced, Required

Responsibilities

  • Independently drive the acquisition, summarizing, cleaning, validation, connection, and analysis of data stored in various systems, databases, and tools.
  • Independently identifies process gaps, recommends and implements process improvement.
  • Lead innovation in both analytical products and the curation of new data sources.
  • Support initiatives to improve data quality, integrity and accessibility for the marketing organization.
  • Engage leadership and internal stakeholders early in the process to promote a more focused project design, greater operating efficiency, and deliver insights that will have a higher impact.
