About The Position

Principal Purpose of the Position: • Supervises the credit operations including collections, risk assessment and directs staff activities to meet department goals. • Monitors and adjusts policies/procedures to minimize credit risk of portfolio of customer accounts. • Coordinates activities to ensure the company maintains proper state sales tax documentation and collects appropriate sales tax when required. • Effectively communicates with internal/external customers and responds to all department matters. • Completes monthly reporting requirements including performance goals, cash flow forecast, quarterly bad-debt write offs and reserves. • Develops and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Motivates employees and if necessary addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. • Responsible for communication within the credit department staff regarding credit activities and requirements. • Participates in credit professional groups and associations along with outside trade reporting agencies to ensure access to them most current credit information. • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required
  • Eight (8) plus years experience, preferably within manufacturing/commercial credit field.
  • Excellent analytical/communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
  • Excellent skills in all phases of communication; telephone/email/letter writing.
  • Excellent knowledge of collection and sales tax laws.
  • Understanding of contract law and mechanic liens.
