About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Manager, Counsel - Vendor & Commercial Contracts (Remote). This role is essential in leading a team of attorneys to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts for approximately 3,000 clients in the financial sector. The Manager will play a crucial role in guiding the organization through complex contractual landscapes, helping to secure new clients and launch innovative products. The successful candidate will ensure contractual compliance, mitigate risks, and foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will drive the efficiency of contracting processes and enhance the company's reputation in the industry.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited law school (JD) with active state bar admission.
  • Minimum of 10 years of vendor and commercial contracting experience.
  • Experience negotiating technology and payments transactions.
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the EFT industry, including ATM or POS systems.
  • Understanding of financial institutions and customer relationship management.
  • Familiarity with contracting and legal principles.
  • Experience with contract management tools and resources.
  • Analytical capabilities for data-driven process improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate with legal advisors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain vendor and commercial contracting processes to meet organizational needs.
  • Direct a team of attorneys, overseeing their work and providing career development opportunities.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex agreements and templates impacting client relationships.
  • Advise internal business owners on client agreements, statements of work, and terms.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Counsel to develop contract standards and language.
  • Ensure proper governance and approvals in the sales and contracting processes.
  • Negotiate and execute new and renewal vendor contracts, updating standards as needed.
  • Communicate contract implications to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of contract documents and attachments.
  • Track contract terms, conditions, and SLA compliance, recommending improvements.
  • Maintain communication on contractual issues with all relevant parties.
  • Report identified risks to management and monitor risks associated with your area.
  • Manage the team of client contracting attorneys, identifying areas for skill development.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
