About The Position

The Manager, Contracting & Operations leads internal contract operational processes and supports the execution of Aledade’s value-based care contracts with national and regional health plans as we help primary care providers shift into value-based care. This role will oversee and manage contracting projects related to developing and executing contracts, drafting financial and legal contract summaries, and partnering with cross-functional teams to share information and obtain buy-in for new contracts. The Manager will also actively track and report on new and existing contracts, manage and develop team processes and tools to ensure alignment across Aledade, manage the internal “source of truth” for all contracts and terms, and support team leads on data collection and analysis projects. We are flexible with geographic location—the ideal candidate can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or from our Bethesda, MD or Durham, NC offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in healthcare with health plans or providers

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree and 6+ year in value-based care contracting with health plans or providers
  • Understanding of the health plan contracting process from initial conversations through contract signing and launch
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Ability to own processes from start-to-finish and independently engage stakeholders
  • Proven success in working cooperatively and strategically in a team-oriented matrixed environment with the ability to influence and interact with all levels
  • Results-oriented with the ability to balance a wide variety of responsibilities
  • Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing customer relationships and communicating effectively with colleagues or external parties
  • Passionate about driving the shift from fee-for-service to value based care

Responsibilities

  • Payer contracting process support activities , including scheduling meetings, taking notes, managing follow-ups, sending W-9s, managing contracts and related documents, performing contract document quality assurance, obtaining legal approvals, and providing internal team and external progress updates.
  • Process design, management and maintenance activities, including tracking renewals and other key contract dates, updating, enhancing and leading internal and external contract information sharing processes, and optimizing the contracting team workflows ( Monday.com and Salesforce optimization).
  • Post-signing contracting support activities , including leading the contract handoff process, tracking down and providing contract information for other teams, creating and managing contract summaries, and other tracking and reporting activities as needed.
  • Other strategic projects, including contract language analysis, data analysis, regulatory, state and federal policy analysis, and other ad hoc projects to support the contracting team.
