About The Position

Guitar Center is looking for a Consumer Insights Manager to lead customer research and help teams make better, more informed decisions. This role is responsible for planning and executing qualitative and quantitative research, managing Voice of Customer (VOC) efforts, and translating findings into clear recommendations for the business. You’ll work closely with partners across marketing, eCommerce, merchandising, and store operations to ensure customer insights are practical, actionable, and aligned to business goals. This is a hands-on role that blends research execution with strategic thinking.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or customer strategy.
  • Hands-on experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience building, managing, or improving Voice of Customer programs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations to non-research audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience with survey platforms such as Qualtrics, Medallia, Alida, SurveyMonkey.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Agency or Retail Research experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct qualitative research, including focus groups, interviews, shop-alongs, and ethnographic studies.
  • Design and manage quantitative research, including surveys and in-market testing.
  • Own and evolve Voice of Customer (VOC)/Customer Experience (CX) programs, consolidating feedback from multiple channels.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify research needs and apply insights to real business decisions.
  • Collaborate with analytics and marketing teams to connect attitudinal research with behavioral and performance data.
  • Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and present them through reports, presentations, and working sessions.
  • Track customer and industry trends to help inform future opportunities and priorities.
