About The Position

The Communications Manager for Harris County's Human Resources division is responsible for designing, overseeing, and implementing communication strategies that support key initiatives. This role requires strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects while fostering relationships with various stakeholders. The manager will handle internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging and playing a key role in crisis communication management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a directly related field.
• Four years of experience in communications, marketing, or a directly related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent analytical skills for tracking, measuring, and reporting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in crisis communication management.
• Familiarity with project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective communication plans, strategies, and campaigns to promote HR goals and initiatives.
• Produce high-quality content for newsletters, websites, social media, project videos, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Manage and oversee the Human Resources' social media strategy, including content creation and scheduling.
• Track, monitor, and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, providing reports to leadership.
• Collaborate with internal team members and key department personnel to ensure alignment with HR goals.
