Job Description: Job Family Definition: The Cloud Developer builds from the ground up to meet the needs of mission-critical applications, and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems. Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions. Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements. The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications. Management Level Definition: Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors. Has accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility. Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' work may involve strategic issues. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Typically reports to MG2 or Director. Additional guidance/criteria: Manages and controls activities within a single country or a sub-region which is part of a larger geographical Region; Manages at least 4 employees and typically between 8 and 15 direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
  • Typically, 7-10 years’ experience, including 0-2 years of people management experience.
  • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge of cloud applications and related technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced project management skills, including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing, developing, and sustaining products, enhancements, and updates.
  • Plans and delivers features for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
  • Proactively identifies process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and achieves operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning.
