About The Position

The candidate will join a team of scientists in San Diego, reporting to a group lead, to support early and late-stage oncology programs within the Pfizer Oncology Clin Pharm team, which consists of approximately 35 scientists. The role emphasizes quantitative pharmacology skills, scientific reasoning, regulatory affairs, written and verbal communication, exploratory graphical analysis, study design, and report writing. The Manager Clinical Pharmacology will serve as the primary clinical pharmacology lead, providing expert guidance to multidisciplinary study teams for oncology programs. The role requires leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee and guide colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and business impact.

Requirements

  • PhD with 0 years of experience, PharmD with 1 year of experience, OR MS with 3+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrable skills in quantitative clinical pharmacology.
  • Hands-on implementation of tools such as NONMEM, R, or Monolix for data analysis and handling.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacology expertise to multidisciplinary study teams for early and late-stage oncology programs.
  • Under the supervision of the ClinPharm group leader, work closely with clinicians, statisticians, translational oncology and clinical operations colleagues to design, conduct and report results of clinical trials.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing dose finding strategies to ensure optimal dose and dosing regimens in clinical trials.
  • Analyze pharmacokinetic data and integrate this knowledge into clinical trial design.
  • Draft clinical pharmacology components of protocols, clinical development plans and regulatory documents.
