About The Position

Manager, Client Communication Consulting Vanguard has an exciting opportunity to join a team that creates and implements effective communication strategies and plans that measurably advance desired business outcomes. In this role you will Identify the best media and channels for communicating effectively and engaging various audiences. What you’ll do Lead, hire, and develop a team of communication consultants, providing coaching, performance feedback, and support in alignment with Vanguard’s people and Human Resources practices. Partner with business leaders and plan sponsors to shape communication strategies that drive measurable outcomes. Translate business strategies and initiatives into effective messaging, prioritizing content that delivers clarity and impact for target audiences. Oversee the full communications lifecycle—including concept development, execution, measurement, and continuous refinement. Provide final review and decisions on creative content across written and visual formats. Guide day-to-day communication activities, ensuring alignment with Vanguard’s brand and evolving industry practices. Serve as a trusted advisor who helps stakeholders navigate communication recommendations, resolve differences, and make informed decisions. Identify opportunities to improve communication processes and source stories that can be scaled more broadly across the organization. Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners across Vanguard and within the industry to support strategic communication efforts. Participate in special projects.

Requirements

  • Five years of relevant professional experience; communications experience preferred.
  • Experience leading or supervising others is preferred.
  • Marketing experience is helpful but not required.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience; graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong skills in communication strategy, consulting, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to think critically, collaborate across teams, manage time effectively, and work comfortably in dynamic environments.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and guiding communications that lead to measurable outcomes.
