About The Position

We’re searching for a Manager of Clinical Support Services, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you will o provide accountability for the clinical, operational, and human resources activities associated with the Child Life Department (Child Life Specialists, Activity Coordinators, Animal Assisted Therapy Coordinators, Program Support Coordinator, Library Coordinators) to include Creative Arts (Music Therapists, Art Therapists, Child Life Media Producers, Patient Technology Coordinators) and Education (School Coordinators, contracted local independent school district instructors) programs. The Clinical Support Manager ensures and advocates for delivering high-quality, family-centered care at the department level and throughout the organization by establishing collaborative relationships with system leadership. Requirements

  • Required bachelor's degree within clinical discipline in areas of clinical support services with a preferred master's degree within clinical discipline in areas of clinical support services
  • CCLS - Cert-Cert Child Life SCLST by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP)
  • MT-BC - Music Therapy-Board Cert by the Certification Board for Music Therapist
  • ATR-BC - Art Therapist-Board by the Certified Art Therapy Credentials Board
  • Required 4 years' experience as a Child Life Specialist, BC Music Therapist, or BC Art Therapist

  • Preferred 1 year Management/Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates patient care needs and collaborates with appropriate members of the health care team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and management of care across the continuum.
  • Creates and facilitates adherence among all Child Life, Creative Arts and Education professional and clinical disciplines to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with health care team and works to eliminate communication barriers.
  • Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing team and ancillary departments to ensure delivery of high-quality care.
  • Maintains clinical competency by ensuring that the psychosocial and developmental needs of the patient are met, within a family-centered environment to promote safe and appropriate transitions of care.
  • Responsible for routine decisions, including shift oversight consisting of staff and resource utilization related to the delivery of high-quality care and customer service.
  • Monitors, facilitates and ensures the delivery of quality, safe and efficient patient care.
  • Monitors WHPUOS metrics and determines allocation of new or backfill FTEs.
  • Maintains relationships with philanthropic partners ensuring strong stewardship of the relationship.
  • Develops and contributes to department goals aligning with organizational priorities. Communicates the organization’s strategic plan for staff.
