Collaborates with senior management to plan, design, document, and execute efficient workflows that support all areas of the revenue cycle. Ensures the financial success of the University of Mississippi Medical Center and University Physicians by applying independent managerial judgment in leading staff, monitoring key performance metrics, staying up-to-date with regulatory requirements related to billing and payments, and addressing customer inquiries regarding insurance and personal balances. Effectively manages staff performance through clear communication and corrective actions. Education & Experience Education and Experience Required: Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and four (4) years of revenue experience including one (1) year of leadership experience. Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possesses in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle operations and the governing rules and regulations for all reimbursement sources, with strong critical thinking skills focused on process improvement and optimizing core systems such as Epic. Demonstrates proven ability to mentor and train staff while remaining adaptable and open to new ideas and change. Maintains a track record of building and sustaining effective working relationships within the department and across business units to foster a collaborative team environment. Capable of managing functional areas to meet established performance metrics, with solid knowledge of business administration and proficiency in personal computers and revenue cycle-related software applications. Exhibits highly effective organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities Participates with senior management, and independently, in developing and designing workflows to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in billing, collections, follow-up, cash posting, and customer service for both professionally certified and non-certified staff. Designs and implements workflows to improve productivity, maximize cash flow, achieve or exceed peer group benchmarks across the revenue cycle, contain costs, and optimize the use of technology, space, and resources. Participates in establishing revenue cycle goals and developing plans to achieve them. Leads and guides employees to excel in revenue cycle performance, collaborating with other revenue cycle managers to avoid duplication of effort and non-productive activities. Ensures operations align with the organization’s strategic goals and strives to lead in ways that meet or exceed peer group benchmarks. Monitors and enforces compliance with all regulatory requirements. Oversees hiring, training, and daily workflow of staff, monitoring productivity to ensure optimal throughput. Collaborates with senior revenue cycle leadership to develop, secure approval for, and oversee implementation of policies and procedures that meet established performance standards. Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations. Manages staff development using performance measurement tools, providing routine feedback, conducting performance reviews, and holding one-on-one meetings, including regular productivity audits and tracking results. Enforces organizational policies and procedures to ensure quality customer service, appropriate expense controls, and effective operations.
