About The Position

The Manager, Cardiac Imaging is a critical member of the care team. The Manager, Cardiac Imaging is responsible for direct on-site and remote supervision of sonographers in a specific region. Additional responsibilities include maintaining quality imaging procedures for direct reports, and supporting onboarding, training, and guidance to new and existing colleagues. In addition, the Manger, Cardiac Imaging will assist as needed with preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures by explaining procedures, performing full transthoracic echocardiography procedures, fielding all member questions, and providing a comfortable setting to the member. This position is also responsible for accurate data entry, assisting providers in interpreting the data, and ensuring all medical records and clinical systems are up to date for their team.

  • Must reside in an existing market or willing to relocate
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 50% of the time
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Echo lab management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Minimum five years working as a Cardiac Sonographer
  • Proficiency with EMR, PACS, and Microsoft Office applications

  • Vascular ultrasound experience is a plus
  • Experience with quality initiatives, process improvement, and accreditation

Responsibilities

  • Direct management responsibility for sonographers in multiple markets to include performance evaluation, workflow analysis, scheduling, data analysis, and monthly reports
  • Establish regular meetings with market and center leadership to promote transparency, communication, and collaboration
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to ensure proper support in all regional markets
  • Assist with monthly quality improvement initiatives to promote high quality imaging and reporting
  • Review incomplete encounters on a daily basis and resolve any outstanding issues
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, training, and guidance to new and existing colleagues
  • Serve as the back-up PACS administrator for technical support and end user training for the region
  • Act as a liaison between providers, sonographers, clinical staff, and operational leadership
  • Obtain optimal quality Echocardiographic data utilizing 2-D imaging, M-Mode, Continuous Wave, Pulsed Wave, and Color Flow Doppler
  • Prepare preliminary reports for provider interpretation
  • Explain procedures to members so they are well informed regarding the examination and address any of their concerns
  • Accurately track and input test data and patient information into clinical systems and medical records
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment, as well as monitor quality control, to ensure accurate results
  • Utilize knowledge of each member's age-specific needs in performance of duties and responsibilities
  • Assist with transporting patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring high-level of patient care and satisfaction
  • Provide ultrasound coverage within the home market and regional markets as needed
