Who We Are CardWorks, Inc. is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company of CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank and Carson Smithfield, LLC. CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offers backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees. Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank. Merrick operates three main business lines: credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services. Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management. The Manager, Card Product Management is responsible for supporting and continually improving the day-to-day operations and control environment of Value-Added Services (VAS) with an initial focus on Payment Protection. This role is accountable for executing operational workflows, coordinating with external vendors, and driving efficiency through process optimization and automation. You’ll be a primary operational contact for BAU (business-as-usual) touch points with an external vendor and will have opportunities to scale your impact across adjacent VAS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Business, Finance, Statistics, Engineering); an additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of this education requirement.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in operations or vendor management is required.
  • Previous experience in consumer financial services or fintech industries, particularly Credit Card.
  • Experience with Payment Protection / Credit Protection.
  • Experience with omnichannel marketing delivery & monitoring.
  • Proficiency with SQL or a scripting language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong process mindset.
  • Proven ability to develop cross-functional relationships and get work done as a team.
  • Familiarity with consumer financial services regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership & Execution: Owns BAU operational workflows for the Payment Protection product, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to SLAs. Establishes and maintains a strong control environment supported by documentation, comprehensive monitoring, and audit readiness.
  • Vendor Management: Serves as a day-to-day contact with an external vendor for BAU operational tasks. Coordinates with the vendor on file exchanges, data quality checks, release schedules, and incident/RCAs.
  • Process Optimization & Operational Efficiency: Maps current-state processes, identifies bottlenecks and control gaps, and implements improvements that reduce cycle time, defects, and manual effort. Standardizes recurring tasks and look to introduce automation opportunities (in partnership with Product, Analytics, and Tech).
  • Controls, Compliance & Reporting: Maintains operational controls for Payment Protection. Produce and distributes BAU dashboards and monthly business reviews (MBRs) covering SLAs, volumes, exceptions, credits/fees, error rates, and vendor performance.
  • Scaling for Other Value Added Services: Identifies and adapts successful Payment Protection operational practices for other Value Added Services. Contributes playbooks and shared utilities to improve operational leverage across products.
  • Collaborates Cross-Functionally: Partners closely with internal stakeholders—including Data, Digital Product, Dev, Finance, Risk Partners, Compliance, and external vendors to coordinate efforts, share insights, and ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Compliance with Laws & Regulations: Responsible for complying with all the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
  • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.
